Lifestyle
East Sussex offers a superb quality of life combining
the excitement of a rich and diverse cultural heritage with a relaxing
idyll. After a challenging day’s work, the peace of the countryside
or the buzz of a town café is never far away.
The area offers many pleasures for the discerning company
director. Opera lovers will delight in summer evenings spent at Glyndebourne,
one of the world’s greatest opera houses, whilst food connoisseurs
can dine in fine restaurants featuring the best of local produce, complemented
by a chilled glass of wine from a nearby vineyard.
Those seeking more active pursuits may try offshore
sailing, perhaps from the Sovereign Harbour Marina in Eastbourne, the
largest composite marina in the UK with 600 permanent berth holders and
some 3,000 visiting yachts each year.
East Sussex is also home to numerous golf courses, including
the Old Course at Rye, which is deemed to be one of the most eye-catching
and challenging links courses in the country. The county is also home
to the acclaimed East Sussex National course, which many believe brings
a touch of Augusta to the Sussex Downs. Less adventurous outdoor types
will find mile upon mile of walking and cycling trails including the famous
South Downs. Many of these conveniently pass by country inns, where refreshments
are taken and weary legs rested.
Coming home is a pleasure too, as there is a wide variety
of housing in town or country settings available. From country cottages
and family townhouses through to urban penthouse apartments, there is
something for everyone. Families have a wide choice of schools and educational
establishments including state schools, private colleges and renowned
Universities. Working parents take also take advantage of a large number
of registered pre-school playgroups and nursery facilities.
So all in all, living in East Sussex satisfies even
the most discerning of company directors and their families!
