Financial Assistance
East Sussex is an opportunity area and has attracted significant enterprise funding from local government, the regional development agency (SEEDA/Finance South East) and Central Government. The delivery structures are now changing and, with the austerity measures, some grants and assistance packages have been discontinued. Until the new landscape becomes clearer, a limited number of schemes are shown here.
We are pleased to announce that the Rural Economy Grant (REG) is now open for business. Details of the scheme including the Handbook are available via the link below: http://rdpenetwork.defra.gov.uk/funding-sources/rural-economy-grant

Important Notice
This document provides information on an indicative basis as a guide to some of the financial assistance which may be available to businesses in East Sussex. The availability of such assistance is dependent upon meeting stipulated eligibility criteria, and this may be changed periodically inline with the restructuring of a scheme, and on there being sufficient uncommitted funds. Capitalise Business Support provides loans and advice to start-up and established businesses that have a proposal that works but who cannot raise any or enough finance from banks and other mainstream lenders.
It is a not for private profit social enterprise and a subsidiary of Ten Sixty Six Enterprise Limited, the local enterprise agency for Hastings and Rother areas in East Sussex, and ultimately part of the Hastings Area Chamber of Commerce.
We have two schemes available which are currently available in Sussex, Kent and Surrey:
• Our Enterprise Finance Guarantee (EFG) loan scheme is aimed at assisting profitable and growing businesses to fund their expansion plans with loans up to £30,000 with repayment terms tailored to suit the needs of each business. We are accredited by Capital for Enterprise to offer the EFG which is a particularly useful facility where other security is not available.
• Our Standard Loan scheme is aimed at working with micro and small sized enterprises and social enterprises in order to achieve positive social change and to bring increased prosperity to disadvantaged or under-represented groups. Typical loan size is around £7,500 over a 2 to 3 year term. Clients in this scheme have all been unable to obtain funding from traditional High Street sources.
